In ten short years ERI has grown into its role as a leading centre for environmental research. Our focus and activity on a number of key themes and research priorities has developed to the stage when we are delivering significant work with global implications.
The natural environment in Scotland is worth £17 billion to the nation’s economy so the opportunities for research, science and commercial success arising from our understanding of this natural ‘resource’ are numerous.
We know that our work has the potential on many levels to create a positive environmental impact for decades to come on a global scale. We are excited by the possibilities and will continue to work with a large variety of partners in academia, commerce, education and government to take that work forward.
Our continuing vision is to be a lodestar for environmental scientific research and we are already on target to achieve that.
