ERI Seminar - Ig Nobel awards event, broadcast from University of Dundee

You can expect an entertaining evening at this Ig Nobel Awards show that honours achievements that will mak you laugh and then make you think. Featuring Marc Abrahams, organiser of the Ig Nobel Prizes and Guardian

columnist, together with a gaggle of Ig Nobel Prize winners and other improbable researchers.  Marc will review the past year’s improbable research and several Ig winners and colleagues will try to explain what they did and why they did it!

 

Join us as part of the Ig Nobel awards annual UK tour and find out the answers to those all important  life-changing questions you need to know, including: 



  • how your underwear could save you from certain death,

  • why you should always keep a look out for flirtatious ostriches,

  • how to avoid problems when using with the word 'The',

  • who invented and wore the World's first false nose AND

  • the best way to avoid sword-swallowing injuries from the author of the penetrating medical report “Sword Swallowing and Its Side Effects.”.



The line-up of acts are: Elena Bodnar, Charles Paxton, Maureen MacGlashan, Steve Farrar and Dan Meyer.
